I am Anne McMillan a book, mixed media, and fiber artist. I am a collector of found objects that I use as inspiration for my work by incorporating them into books and using them to convey a story. My art is an eclectic mix of my life reflecting where I have been, and where I want to go—incorporating natural material with traditional structures. A fusion of elements to create a tactile and immersive experience inviting you to explore the layers or pages of the work. The goal of my work is that each piece becomes a time capsule of life, a memory, a feeling, and a story I want to tell. I am constantly exploring different techniques and finding ways to combine these into books that reflect the materials used. Taking something that was once discarded or from the past and capturing it in a book. To be able to hold that work and interact with it so it becomes an object for the senses to experience. As I continue my journey, I aspire to push the boundaries of my creativity by creating works that reflect my vision and create something that will inspire others.
