Suzanne Kricker
At her roots, Suzanne is a storyteller who picked up her pen at the age of six and held it tightly while pursuing a career in journalism and public relations.  Her first camera was an instrument of necessity, but photography took hold and decades later, it remains a constant in her life. Suzanne now communicates visually by creating staged imagery in her studio.  She frequently uses self portraiture to explore the emotional complexities and tensions that she finds in herself , but she also turns the lens on other subjects seeking the same.  Finally, the two are blended into an environment that she photographs specifically for each project. The people and places in Suzanne’s photographs often confound.  Faces are obscured, symbols blurred, something is amiss,  but therein lies the pen. Prior to the pandemic, Suzanne was instrumental in the startup of two photography studios in  her native southern Delaware.  Afterward, she participated in a wide number of group exhibits held in area venues such as the Biggs Museum of American Art, the Rehoboth Art League, the Peninsula Art Gallery, Camp Rehoboth and the Nassau Vineyards.  She has also been a longtime member of a select photography critique group established by renowned American photographer Connie Imboden in 2020. She resides in Lewes, Delaware.
