As an artist, my desire is to pull apart what I see visually and feel emotionally and rework it through a romantic mystical lens. The act of being in love, and falling in love represents being aligned with something larger than ourselves. Staying in tune with the effortlessness and elegance of nature also represents this poetic alignment. The idea of marrying our passionate human impulses with the elegance of nature is what fuels my creative process. In my painting, this comes out through exploring the natural world and merging it with a spiritual, passionate approach. The written word, in the form of love letters, lyrics and poetry is often tucked underneath the paint or carved on top as an additional form of expression that culminates into a sensual experience on the canvas. "Everywhere I turn, the natural landscape, light, and sounds whisper words of love to me. It is the ultimate decadence to be weighed down with beauty in all its forms.
